A Session With Your Child

Daily Rhythm & Routine

9:30 – 10:00 AM Welcome & Free Play expand_more

Gentle separation, settling into the environment. Children and caregivers arrive and are greeted warmly. This unstructured time allows toddlers to transition smoothly, explore the room at their own pace, and engage with open-ended materials while caregivers shadow them, building an initial sense of security and belonging.

10:00 – 10:30 AM Circle Time expand_more

Morning songs, weather, interactive stories. The group comes together on the mat. We sing familiar greeting songs, use simple props like hand puppets, and read short, engaging stories. This predictable routine helps toddlers understand the rhythm of the day and encourages early vocalization and shared attention.

10:30 – 11:00 AM Snack Break expand_more

Guided independent eating and hygiene. A communal snack time where toddlers sit together. Caregivers assist as children practice washing hands, feeding themselves, and trying new textures. It's a wonderful opportunity for early socialization and promoting self-help skills in a relaxed setting.

11:00 – 11:45 AM Activity Centers expand_more

Art, sensory, or fine motor skill building. Toddlers rotate through age-appropriate stations. Activities might include taste-safe finger painting, exploring sensory bins with water or sand, or stacking large blocks. These stations are designed to stimulate the senses and develop fine motor coordination under caregiver guidance.

11:45 – 12:15 PM Outdoor / Gross Motor expand_more

Active play to build coordination. Moving outside (or to an indoor gym area), children engage in larger movements. Crawling over soft blocks, cruising along low walls, or chasing bubbles helps develop core strength, balance, and spatial awareness in a safe, soft-fall environment.

12:15 – 12:30 PM Goodbye Routine expand_more

Closing songs and preparation for home. We gather once more to sing our special goodbye song, reflecting on the fun we had. Children receive a small sticker or stamp, helping signal the end of the session. This clear transition helps toddlers anticipate leaving and reduces anxiety for future visits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions Parents Ask

Do caregivers need to stay for the entire session?

Yes, the Parent–Toddler programme is designed as a shared experience. A parent, grandparent, or designated caregiver must remain present and actively participate alongside the child throughout the session.

What if my child cries at drop-off or during the session?

Crying is a natural response as toddlers navigate new environments. With caregivers present, we gently support both you and your child, offering soothing techniques and allowing them to warm up at their own pace without pressure.

Can a nanny or grandparent attend instead of a parent?

Absolutely. We welcome any consistent primary caregiver. We ask that the same caregiver attempts to attend regularly to provide the child with a stable, predictable routine and a familiar face in a new setting.

What should we bring to the session?

Please bring a water bottle, a change of clothes, any essential diapering supplies, and a healthy snack. We suggest dressing your child in comfortable play clothes that can handle a bit of messy sensory art!

Is my 6-month-old too young for this?

Not at all. For our youngest infants, the focus is on sensory exposure, tummy time, observing older peers, and providing parents with a supportive community and foundational developmental guidance.

How does this prepare them for independent preschool?

By establishing a routine and allowing children to explore a classroom environment from the safety of a caregiver's lap, we build deep self-confidence. This foundational trust significantly reduces separation anxiety when transitioning to Playgroup.
